There is shock and outrage over the brutal killing of a homeless man, who was set ablaze by unknown assailants near Heroes Circle, Kingston on Monday. The savagery of the incident has prompted the government to action.

Despite ongoing efforts to improve their conditions, the call has been amplified for government officials to do more as free meals and shelter, are still not enough. The savagery of the incident has prompted the government into action, as Minister Mckenzie announced a 500-thousand-dollar reward for any information, which may lead to the arrest and charge of those involved.
Kingston Mayor, Delroy Williams says the incident is shocking. He says the municipality has put a few things in place to protect the homeless. The mayor also reveal that a new facility was built to assist and protect the vulnerable, known as the Desmond Mckenzie Transitional Centre for the homeless. He is calling on relatives of those who have fallen on hard times and are forced to live on the streets, to lend assistance.
Four homeless men were chopped to death in Downtown Kingston in January of last year, while two suffered similar chop wounds, but survived the attack.
