The PSOJ is calling on all corporations, to take responsibility for their waste. Effluent from Windalco contaminated the water supply, leading to residents demanding action from the authorities. Chairperson of the PSOJ environment and energy committee, Eleanor Jones while condemning the pollution, says more is expected from all government entities to safeguard the environment. Jones notes, that there needs to be more caution while disposing effluent and better wastewater management in general. He adds that this is an example of reputational risks for Windalco. The energy environment and climate change committee of PSOJ maintains that both surface and groundwater must be protected for the health of the population. Watch the full report:
