The Private Sector Organization of Jamaica (PSOJ) have recommended to Parliament a proposal for the Sexual Harassment Bill on Thursday which is currently under revision.
PSOJ Vice President Mariame Mcintosh-Robinson says there should be more sensitization of the public and organizations should have an internal structure, separate from human resource to handle sexual assault matters.
While the tribunal has the authority to grant awards to victims of sexual harassment, Mcintosh-Robinson however says there is a limitation on awards, and according to the bill, there are levels or degrees that apply to different victims.
She also added that while the tribunal aims to be a diverse entity, she says the board should be gender neutral as both males and females fall victim to sexual harassment.
