A man was charged after a multi-million dollar heist at a furniture store in Drax Hall, St. Ann, on Friday, October 27. Charged with Shop Breaking and Larceny is 45-year-old Sutcliffe Davy, otherwise called ‘Puss’, of of Back Street, Salem, St. Ann. Reports are that the complainant securely locked up his place of business and went home. The following morning, when he returned to his business place, he discovered that culprits had gained access, ransacked the store, and stole a safe that contained cash of JMD 8,000,000, a cheque valued at USD 3480, checks valued at JMD 3,649,879, and forty (40) assorted cellphones valued at JMD 820,000. The CCTV was then viewed, and Davy was seen with another man removing the items. He was charged after an interview.
His court date is being finalised.
