Several stakeholders are lauding the government’s proposed spending of the trillion-dollar budget, highlighting the reduction of the debt burden while also providing additional support to small businesses, to encourage growth.
The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) is expressing satisfaction with the finance minister, Dr. Nigel Clarke’s Budget presentation on Tuesday. PSOJ President Metry Seaga, in extending appreciation, says he welcomes the announcement of no new taxes.
He notes the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) will help persons gain employment in meaningful and well-paid jobs despite predictions that a recession is likely to hit Jamaica, Seaga remains hopeful the economy will thrive.
