The urgent message was sent on the heels of threats against members of the Force following the recent fatal shooting of two alleged gangsters in the St Catherine North and South Police Division. Read the release:
URGENT – HEIGHTENED VIGILANCE REQUIRED
To all Police Officers operating within Area 5,
We have received credible threats against our members following the recent fatal shooting of two gangsters in the St. Catherine North and South Police Divisions. As a result, we urge you to exercise EXTREME VIGILANCE while carrying out your duties.
Please be aware of your surroundings at all times, and take the necessary precautions to ensure your safety and the safety of your colleagues. This includes:
We take these threats seriously and are working closely with intelligence units to monitor the situation. Your safety is our top priority, and we will do everything possible to support you. You have the full support of High and Area Command.
