Resident Benefits from New Social Housing Programme

A west Portland family is the latest to benefit from the government’s Social Housing Programme, Friday. Speaking at the handover ceremony, Prime Minister Andrew Holness says improving the conditions in which people live, will lift the general outlook of society.

Meanwhile, a member of parliament for Portland Western, Daryl Vaz is appealing to the prime minister to do more for fire victims rendered homeless. The latest beneficiary from the new Social Housing Programme is Clovett James, who extended her gratitude for her new home, which she had applied for 14 years ago through Food for the Poor.

Member of Parliament for Portland Western, Daryl Vaz says the need is great for proper housing, especially in rural constituencies. He is appealing to the Prime Minister to help fire victims.
