Residents Displaced by Bauxite Mining Given Land Titles

The Noranda Bauxite Company has granted 25 individuals land titles to reimburse them for giving up their land for mining.

The company presented land titles to five vendors who sold the company land for mining. The company has been working with the ministry of mining in the issuing process. Mining Minister, Robert Montague says the company hopes to hand out more in the coming year.

St. Ann’s North-Western Member of Parliament, Krystal Lee that Noranda has promised land for the expansion of the Discovery Bay High School.
