Hoping to inspire a more integrated process in urban development, some 10 citizen associations met with the Kingston Municipality. They consulted on ways to ensure the municipality actions the concern of residents who live in areas where development is taking place. Kingston Mayor Delroy Williams says he will work to make the process more ” citizen-friendly”.
Residents voiced their concerns about how citizens are excluded from the development process. Attorney-At-Law Gavin Goffe shared that residents found it difficult to communicate with the municipality about a project before it is approved.
