Riverton Meadows are adamant In Having Power Restored – Residents of one St. Andrew community are again irate due to the continuous disconnections of electricity by the Jamaica Public Service (JPS). Just a week ago they went several days without power and it wasn’t restored until last Thursday. Now residents are adamant that the power company takes action in restoring their electricity.
This irate resident Morris Heslop explains to CVM Live that contracts were made between the JPS and some community members who are legally registered in the system, he says it’s not the responsibility of the paying customers to be held accountable for illegitimate persons.
Area councilor Hazel Anderson who was also present says that a meeting was held with Member of Parliament Anthony Hylton last Thursday to discuss the land and light issue. She says representatives from the land agency were also present and the mp initiated the process for residents to access their land titles, she however says the process is ongoing.
