A family in St. Thomas finds themselves in a state of shock and renewed sorrow after thieves ransacked the grave of their deceased relative at Lloyd’s Cemetery, located a few miles outside of Yallahs. Despite the visible destruction having been repaired, not everyone is haunted by the incident, as some speculate that poverty and greed will lead to an increase in such occurrences.
Criminals absconded with valuables and cash believed to be worth around a million dollars, all of which had been interred with the deceased. The grave belongs to Jevoun ‘Mad Daag Six’ Shaw, who passed away on May 13 earlier this year. This macabre incident has left the rural community with mixed emotions, with some attempting to rationalize the robbery by pointing to the extravagant display of wealth associated with the burial site.
