The launch of the Records and Information Management Policy implementation and sensitisation programme was established to govern records and information across all ministries and departments.
Allowing for the ease of doing business and has helped with the storage of important records. With Monday being recognised as international day for universal access to information, the focus is on maintaining this access for all Jamaicans.
Morgan notes that the passage of the data protection act has further reinforced the importance and control of information being shared.
Adding to this, the director of the access to information unit at the education ministry noted that investments in records management are critical to strengthening access to information.
