“Samuda to Replace Chang”- Not the Solution

Calls for Senator Matthew Samuda to replace his minister, Dr. Horace chang as security minister has been met with some resistance by one social commentator Kevin O’Brien Chang. Chang agrees that some changes in the ministry may be necessary, but says Samuda may not be the best person to succeed Chang.

This, after recent discussions among western Jamaica stakeholders urging the Prime Minister to use Samuda to replace his boss, since crime figures continue to increase.

O’Brien Chang says although he understands the reason for the suggestion, it would be a mistake. He says the security ministry is perhaps the most difficult to run as the security minister is often used as a scapegoat for crime and appointing Samuda will not fix crime, as it is a societal problem.

Meanwhile, the discussion has also sparked commentary among social media users who’re calling for Education Minister Fayval Williams to resign. Chang agrees her personality may not be fit for the education ministry.
