One community in St. Elizabeth has been seeing an increase in scamming and inter-personal disputes. This was revealed by Commissioner of Police Major General Antony Anderson.
He was speaking at a ground breaking ceremony along with Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Horace Chang. While speaking at a ground breaking ceremony in St. Elizabeth recently, Major General Antony Anderson sought to address several issues plaguing the Lacovia area of late. He noted that scammers have been purchasing guns which are used to settle disputes.
The commissioner also points out that there has been a growing trend of inter-personal conflicts he’s urging residents to reach out to the police. He adds that though the police may not be able to intervene immediately, he’s imploring residents to make the police aware. Dr. Horace Chang meanwhile reaffirmed the government’s commitment towards investing in the security forces.
The government has spent more than $50 billion over the past six years to improve the capability and capacity of the country’s security architecture. Dr. Chang further adds that the law men have put their lives on the front line and it is imperative they have the necessary resources to fight crime.
