Mavis Rule is an 83-year-old, who has been living in extreme poverty for several years, in the Central Kingston constituency; residents who recently became aware of her condition brought her plight to the Member of Parliament, Donovan Williams and by extension the Poor Relief Department of the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation.
In this feature, we highlight Miss Rule – the message is to not turn a blind eye to any citizen especially senior citizens who are struggling in the community.
