Some senior citizens in Greendale, St. Catherine were recently provided with a profusion of care packages from the Harris Foundation. The center that was established to cater to the elderly in 2019 had not been active since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.
President of the foundation Michael Harris says the organization would normally supply the elderly on a monthly basis, however, due to the pandemic the foundation has not been consistent.
Milicent Channer-Beckford says it was she who sparked the idea of forming the senior citizens group. She expressed gratitude for the support of the elderly.
Despite the setbacks, the members of the center have expressed their gratitude and a few senior citizens shared their appreciation for the care packages.
