For the year as it stands Falmouth, Trelawny has now documented 12 murders compared to 18 for the corresponding period last year.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Carlos Russell says as it relates to serious crimes, the parish had a slight increase in September with 11 while august had 7. He noted this included two murders, one shooting, two cases of rape, two aggravated assaults and four break-ins. Russell says the number of serious crimes of last year has decreased from 106 to 82.

The police force has taken precautions in monitoring the movements of persons with a history of criminal activities or affiliation. Russell added that patrols will continue along with the partnership with business persons in the parish. He says Trelawney is now one of the safest parishes as the police continue to work diligently to maintain order.
