Shootout Along Red Hills Road: An intense gun battle occurred on Monday evening (December 14) in St. Andrew between Police Officers and gunmen resulting in one man being dead and three others on the run. Reports are that there was an alleged robbery.
CVM LIVE understands one of the men was shot and succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
A man hunt is now underway for the three men who managed to escape.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dahlia Garrick at the Constabulary’s Communications Unit, told CVM LIVE that a firearm was also seized from the motor vehicle the gunmen were driving.
DSP Garrick says a total of five firearms were seized in other incidents and arrests made. She says the heightened patrol from the JCF is a strategic measure by the Police Commissioner to manage crime during the yuletide season.
