Six men were shot and injured on racecourse lane in Denham Town on Sunday evening. The brazen attack took place in the community that is not only declared a Zone of Special Operations (ZOSO) but in the back yard of the ZOSO headquarters. According to residents, gunmen traveling on a motorcycle open fired on the residents who were at a party at a bar.
A daring attack, as if spitting in the faces of the security forces, gunmen on a motorcycle shot up this bar on racecourse lane, in Denham Town, Kingston.
The bar is just a stone’s throw away from the Zone of Special Operations camp and the Metcalfe Street Juvenile Remand centre. Residents admit there was an illicit event at the bar. However, they were hoping for the protection of the said security forces.
CVM Live understands that the men scoped out the bar, the ZOSO HQ, and the police checkpoint at Golden Heights before returning to carry out their attack.
Councilor for the Denham Town Division, Jermaine Hyatt says the attacks shameful.
The Senior Superintendent of Police, Stephanie Lindsay, says the information received is that the event was targeted. The police are appealing to the public to refrain from hosting these illegal events or parties. And for patrons not to attend- CVM’s Jamaila Maitland visited the community on Monday.
