Representatives from the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) started their Christmas celebration catering to the homeless population across the space, by providing meals for over 900 individuals.
Mayor of Kingston Delroy Williams says the municipality and its members sought to feed persons at the Marie Atkins night shelter, the Desmond McKenzie Transitional Centre, and persons across the Municipality. With respect to their efforts in addressing issues surrounding vulnerable groups, Mayor Williams said his goal is to reduce the number of homeless people in the Municipality. He hopes the Desmond McKenzie Transitional Facility currently housing some 35 persons, will be expanded to accommodate 80 to 100. Watch the report:
