Former Jamaica Teachers Association (JTA) President Owen Speid sought to highlight more valid reasons contributing to teacher migration. He pointed to sections of the Jamaica Teaching Council Bill as being a possible influencing factor while speaking with our news team on Monday.

As teachers migrating overseas continue to be a concern for the education sector, former JTA President Owen Speid in speaking with CVM LIVE highlighted even more reasons teachers are taking flight. The current structure of the Jamaica Teaching Council Bill, Speid notes is placing teachers between a rock and a hard place.

The outspoken former JTA boss, adds that this particular bill is not new, as it has always existed. Additionally, Speid alluded to the compensation review, noting that salaries are discouraging.
