SSP James Forbes to Return to the JCF Today

Former Senior Superintendent of Police SSP James Forbes is to resume his Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) duties effective today, July 28, after being recently freed of corruption charges.

In March of this year, the retired officer stated he had served his country in the Constabulary and had no plans of returning.

However, four (4) months later, Tuesday, July 27, he announced his return to the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

Senior Superintendent Forbes was a potential candidate for the post of Police Commissioner before the corruption matter and his exit from the force.

He notes his return will see him meeting with key allies.

He stated that upon his return on July 28, he will meet with different arms and departments of the force to decide his way forward with the JCF.

SSP James Forbes was fined 800,000 or six (6) months imprisonment in May 2014 after being convicted of perverting the course of justice.

The incident allegedly took place in 2012 and saw businessman Bruce Bicknell and MP Daryl Vaz being implicated as well, charged, and later freed.

The Appellate Court, however, overturned Forbes’ conviction in February 2021.
