SSP Russell: Trelawny Christmas Crime Prevention

The people of Trelawny are being assured by the police that despite being so close to the tri-parish State of Emergency, (SOE) and weeks away from Christmas, they will be protected. This from the Head of the Trelawny police, who spoke with CVM Live exclusively Thursday, November 25.

Some Trelawny residents have grown fearful of criminals fleeing to the parish ahead of the Christmas season a period especially with the tri-parish SOE now in effect in neighbouring parishes.

In a CVM Live exclusive, head of the Trelawny police division, Senior Superintendent Carlos Russell says they remain committed to keeping the division safe. He notes that there will always be the possibility that persons will want to move over to Trelawny, now that the State of Emergency is in effect in St. James, Westmoreland and Hanover. He also notes that the police force is aware and the necessary measures are being put in place. SSP Russell says in order to maintain peace; the people must continue to cooperate with the lawmen, reporting any form of strange activities within the space.

Meanwhile, he notes with the return of cruise ships to the Falmouth pier special attention is being paid to tourists entering the space and following COVID-19 protocols.
