On Monday angry residents and motorists blocked sections of the main thoroughfare between Discovery Bay and Runaway Bay, St Ann protesting the conditions of the road. They say they are fed up with the interim patches and are demanding a proper fix.
The St. Ann’s Bay Mayor Sydney Stewart intervened, promising a thorough fix in short order. While Member of Parliament Krystal Lee was absent from the demonstration, Mayor Stewart told CVM LIVE, that Lee is doing her best. He says she has acted swiftly on patching potholes whenever they appear, however, he says the comprehensive fix to the road situation is underway.
Stewart also notes there have been several other projects in the division that are in the process of completion. Meanwhile, the St. Ann police are reminding persons to refrain from blocking the roadway when protesting.
