One local clergyman has slammed the Opposition for voting against the extension of the States of Public Emergency (SOPE) during the Senate on Friday. He reiterates the SOPEs should have remained until there is a long-term solution to curb crime in Jamaica.
The church is renewing its call for the extension of the States of Emergency; a measure it believes is an effective crime fighting tool. During a recently held meeting in Portmore, St Catherine, Bishop Rowan Edwards, Chairman of the ten thousand men and families movement says the SOE’s should have remained until there’s a solution to crime.
