A St. Catherine family is seeking help for two traumatized children allegedly abused by a parent, this comes just weeks after another child, Nashaun Brown died following a severe beating by his stepfather in St. Catherine.
Carol Bennett, the grandmother of a 4-year-old and 8-year-old says she is deeply concerned for the mental well-being of the children. This as they both were allegedly being physically abused by their father. Ms. Bennett says the matter was reported to the police and is currently before the court.
She says the allegations surfaced after she took custody of the children following the tragic death of their mother in January this year. She says the traumatized children started detailing how they were allegedly abused a few days after the burial when they were at her home.
She further points out how heartbroken and distressed she was, as the elder of the two relived the disturbing details
She says the sister was allegedly thrown on her forehead by her father. When asked if neighbours were aware of the abuse, she says they knew but kept silent.
The Child Protection and Family Services Agency, (CPFSA ) they expressed outrage at the incident. They are also urging the victims to come forward so the necessary support can be provided.
