St James Councillor Charged, Suspended By JLP

According to the communications arm of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, charges stem from allegations that on Tuesday, December 7, Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Councillor for the Montego Bay South East Division in St James Arthur Lynch and his wife had a dispute.  According to reports, during the dispute, He pulled his licensed firearm and pointed it at his wife.

A report was made to the police, and he was charged after an investigation.

His court date is being finalized and the Jamaica Labour Party has subsequently advised that Lynch, has been suspended with immediate effect. 

The JLP’s disciplinary committee is expected to probe the matter and report its findings to the central executive of the party for further action.

Lynch is reportedly filing for divorce from his wife.
