One of St. James’ most wanted men was fatally shot during a confrontation with members of the joint anti-gang task force. Dead is 26-year-old Tevon Johnson otherwise called Poppy of a Crawford Street address.
Police say one pistol was also seized during the operation Tuesday. The lawmen encountered the outlaw on Crawford Street in Mount Salem, St. James Tuesday, while conducting another intelligence- led operation. They were reportedly at a premises within the Mount Salem Zone of Special Operation where they were reportedly greeted by gunfire. The fire was returned and a man was later found with gunshot wounds. That man, no stranger to the police, later died from his wounds.

Police say one Walter Armc pistol along with a magazine was seized in the operation. The Commanding Officer for the St James Police Division SSP Vernon Ellis is urging wanted men to turn themselves in to the nearest police station and not to engage the security forces in a gun battle.
