St William Grant Park Cleaning Program Underway

The St William Grant Park in Downtown Kingston, which has long been the subject of public health hazards, will undergo deep cleaning. Kingston Mayor Delroy Williams, says the park contains several national monuments, therefore the area must be treated respectfully.

The municipality adopted a program to employ homeless persons, giving them the responsibility to be caretakers for the given space. The mayor says he is confident this initiative will be effective.

However, He reported that the Litter Act will be revisited, to allow for stricter penalties for those found in breach. More details here:
