The murder of a Chinese couple months after being denied a gun license to protect themselves and their business has opened the door for further scrutiny of the operations of the Firearm Licensing Authority, FLA.  Questions surrounding eligibility and processes involved in operating in the legal weapons business have also emerged.

Riddled with delays is how some key players in the local gun business describe the review process at the FLA.

CVM LIVE received documents allegedly from the owners of the Jojo supermarket now demised following a robbery at their establishment in December. The documents show the alleged response from the FLA denying them the privilege of owning a firearm despite listing myriad attempted break-ins and break-ins over the years. The denial however was met with a swift response within twenty-one (21) days to the FLA review board months before the couple was gunned down.

Currently, the appeal fee is 50-thousand dollars, a more than 300 percent increase; the appeal given alleged backlogs can drag on for between 2 to 5 years. Time some applicants may not have depending on the danger they’re exposed to like this couple murdered hours before Christmas.
