The Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN) is reporting a 4.8 percent increase in the country’s GDP for the April to June 2022 quarter. The institute also reported an increase in the inflation rate for September 2022.
That revelation from STATIN’s Director General, Carol Coy at the latest quarterly media briefing. This the Director General notes lead to profits in the service industries. A contributing factor she also highlighted was the lifting of the DRMA measures implemented during the pandemic.
In relation to the consumer price index, the inflation rate for September 2022 saw a slight increase impacting basic commodities for consumers.
