Students from Rhodes Hall High School in Hanover, are championing the call for dropouts to return to school and continue receiving an education. The youngsters marched through the town encouraging their peers to “labour for learning” rather than becoming drawn to crime.
“fully dunce annuh fi wi culture, stay in school,” that is the theme stakeholders at the Rhodes Hall High School in Hanover rallied behind at the Orange Bay Plaza in the parish, with the hope of encouraging students to stay in school.
Guidance councillor at the institution Trina Vaccianna Clarke, says the school noticed a decline in enrollment when it reopened its doors after being forced to entertain students online due to the covid-19 pandemic. Majority of the students live in neighboring communities, and account for the 700 plus children enrolled. Clarke lays the blame of chronic absenteeism at the feet of parents’ from poor financial background.
