The police say they are making major headway in nabbing the suspects involved in Sunday’s multimillion-dollar heist in Portmore, St. Catherine. As the investigation intensifies, the police say they now know the identity of the suspects involved.
In the meantime, there are mounting concerns for citizens’ safety and how the heists will impact their experiences with financial groups. Stakeholders anticipate the robberies will affect the way financial groups continue their operations. President of the Private Sector of Jamaica, PSOJ Metry Seaga empathized with scores of traumatized Jamaicans, adding financial institutions are now faced with a need to ramp up their security game. He also noted the many ways robberies will have a cascading effect on citizens’ future experiences with financial groups. Watch the report:
