The unpredictability of COVID-19 remains a concern for tourism players in Negril, even as they bank on a booming summer. Although Jamaica is deemed high-risk by the U.S Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the hopes of hoteliers in the resort town are spurred by bookings. Hoteliers and other tourism players in Negril are excited about summer as bookings foreshadow a fruitful season. 

Still, Negril Chamber of Commerce President and prominent hotelier Richard Wallace is hoping there will be no disruptions. 

He adds that occupancies are good despite being higher in the winter tourist season which ran from December 15 to April 30. At the same time, Wallace says locals continue to support the resort town. Watch the full report for more details:
