The St Ann police are seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect after a deadly daylight encounter with the criminals in Ocho Rios on Thursday. One of the suspects died during the interaction, while his crony fled after their vehicle upon interception crashed into an embankment.
The police also recovered an illegal firearm and four rounds of ammunition.
The day-old implementation of the state of public emergency is hardly enough to take credit for the policing activity that led to the midday engagement near the Ocho Rios bus terminus. DSP Francis says they alerted the team on duty who intercepted the vehicle. They however have secured images of the suspect and the information for the owner of the vehicle. Meantime, the police didn’t release the identity of the deceased as his relatives were not yet apprised of the news.
