In the Moorefield district of Trelawny, a pre-dawn domestic dispute has turned deadly, leading to the suspected homicide of a 59-year-old fisherman, David Brown. CVM TV reports that a homicide investigation is now underway. The incident involves Sylvia Monteque-Brown, a 56-year-old babysitter from Moorefield, and Lester Monteque, a 60-year-old laborer from the Tilston Housing Scheme, who have been named as suspects in the case.
According to police reports, Sylvia Monteque approached the Wakesfield Police Station earlier, reporting threats made by the now-deceased David Brown. The police escorted her home and warned Brown against carrying out any threats. Despite this intervention, at approximately 5:30 AM, the police were called back to the same residence due to another dispute. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered the lifeless body of David Brown in a field, with apparent wounds to the head and face. Several witnesses, choosing to remain anonymous, shared their perceptions of the relationship between the deceased and the female suspect. Residents in the remote area expressed astonishment, stating that such incidents were unheard of in their years of living in the community.
