Teen still on life support: Seventeen years old Kaylan Dowdie was badly beaten by a group of women a week ago at a party in Boysie Lane off Barbican Road in Kingston.
The incident has triggered national outrage with hundreds demanding justice for the young girl.
CVM LIVE spoke with the Kaylan’s mother, Veneisha Buckley, moments after she visited her daughter in the hospital on Saturday afternoon. Buckley says though she has not seen any real progress in Kaylan’s condition, she remains hopeful that her daughter will recover.
She adds that Kaylan will need to do an MRI but, the available dates are not until another month. The mother deeply condemns the act of violence against the teen.
The St. Andrew North Police say two of the five women wanted for the vicious attack have been arrested. Superintendent Aaron Fletcher says the two women will be charged.
Reports from the police are that seventeen year old girl and a 29 year old were beaten and stabbed by a group of women after a dispute broke out.
They were taken to hospital where the teen was admitted in critical condition and the other woman treated and released.
