Despite the government’s refusal to grant taxi operators a traffic ticket amnesty, President of the Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services (TODSS), Egeton Newman says if taxi operators are not granted an amnesty or payment plan several operators will not be able to carry out their duties efficiently.

He reiterates taxi operators’ fear of going to prison or losing their licenses. He explains this will impact persons in the corporate area especially. He added that he anticipates public transport operators be recognized as a legitimate institution in Jamaica for 2023.
