Tourism Industry to Benefit from New Health Program

As Jamaica’s tourism industry, recovers slowly from the impact of COVID-19, there is hope it will get a further boost with the implementation of a new program that will not only benefit the sector but Jamaicans at large.

Jamaicans will now benefit from a new health program that was launched by the Global Tourism Resilience Center. The Jamaica cares traveler protection. The traveler protection and services programme is a partnership coordinated and administered by the global tourism resilience and crisis management centre.

CEO of Global Rescue Daniel Richards outlined the details of the services to CVM Live.

Tourists will be provided with an information package and emergency contact details as they conclude their application for permission to travel to Jamaica. However, participation is mandatory for all non Jamaican passport holders. Richards says from this venture employment opportunities will be available.

Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett says the program is designed to ensure tourists receive quality care. He also stated that Jamaica is the first country in the region to embark on this new endeavor.
