Jamaica’s Tourism Sector is expected to bring a total of U.S $1.5 million by the end of August.
Meanwhile, Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett says the country is responsible to continue practicing COVID-19 protocols to keep the Delta variant and any other at bay.
Minister Bartlett says though most countries globally are encouraging their citizens to get vaccinated, a large proportion who have been infected have not been vaccinated.
The Minister notes that travelers from the U.S are fully vaccinated. However, he like Health Minister Dr. Tufton believes the variant may already be in the country.
The Minister says the Tourism Ministry has been resolute in ensuring that foreigners must provide negative tests.
He adds that his Ministry has also been making efforts for Jamaica to receive additional vaccines.
Minister Bartlett also sought to map the status of the nation’s road to the recovery of the tourism sector.
