Transport Operators Launch COVID-19 Initiative
The drive to vaccinate 65% of Jamaica’s transport workers and operators for the next four months has finally gotten into gear. The transport operator’s COVID-19 blitz was held on Wednesday, October 13, at the Halfway Tree Transport Center, St. Andrew.
The operation is being spearheaded by the private sector vaccine initiative to combat the virus through vaccination of public transport operators.
Jamaica Urban Transit Company, (JUTC) driver of eight years, Barrington Mcgowan came out to get the jab. The 57-year-old is urging other operators to take the vaccine during the cross-country blitz adding that the process is fast and efficient.
British Caribbean Insurance Company, (BCIC) General Manager for marketing Lori-Ann Glasgow who has partnered with the Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services, (TODSS) says this initiative is crucial for Jamaica’s fight against COVID-19, as taxi operators are critical.
