The Forestry Department and partners continue to restore Jamaica’s mangroves in sections of Kingston under the government’s Mangrove Restoration Program. This initiative is expected to build resilience for the country’s coastal safety, while reducing Jamaica’s carbon footprint.
Minister with responsibility for the Environment Senator Matthew Samuda says the government and other stakeholders are playing their part by planting trees under the mangrove restoration program. He adds this initiative will also play a critical role in mitigating carbon in the environment. He is reassuring citizens that the government will continue to be resolute in its mission to curtail the environmental issue. Watch the report:
