In Trelawny, Community Gathers to Bid Farewell to 15-Year-Old Victim of Tragic Home Invasion -Trelawny residents came together today to lay to rest a 15-year-old girl who tragically fell victim to a home invasion last month. The emotional funeral service, held at the Stettin New Testament Church of God, was marked by tears and heart-wrenching grief, particularly from the girl’s mother, who was also injured during the early morning attack by unidentified assailants.
As scores of residents and mourners gathered to celebrate the life of Jamila Cole, a Troy High student, the sounds of wails and screams painted a vivid picture of the profound sorrow enveloping the community. Jamila’s mother, who had also been a victim of the August home invasion, received the devastating news of her daughter’s passing while emerging from a coma in the hospital.
Jamila was known for her gentle spirit, loving nature, and her productive endeavors, all of which earned her high regard among those who knew her. In her honor, the Principal of Troy High School has established a scholarship as a tribute to her memory. Watch the report:
