Motorists are again being warned to use the roads carefully to reduce the number of road fatalities for 2023. This after a two-vehicle collision along the Wiltshire main road in Trelawny just 10 minutes before the new year. The fatal collision claimed the lives of two people and left another unconscious with a pending warning.
Specifically pointing to the north coast corridor in Trelawny, Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Winston Milton says speeding was the main contributor to most of the fatal incidents. The officer is hoping the new Road Traffic Act will help to mitigate the prevalent recurrence of road crashes.
DSP Milton adds drivers should travel within the recommended speed limit and obey the laws. Despite his continued warning, the officer is lauding the residents of Trelawny for their consistent cooperation which assisted the police tremendously in 2022.
