Trinidad and Tobago Endorses Senator Kamina Johnson Smith

More support is pouring in for Senator Kamina Johnson Smith as she seeks to unseat incumbent Baroness Patricia Scotland and become the next secretary-general of the Commonwealth. Trinidad and Tobago is the latest country to declare its support for the Foreign Affairs Minister, who continues her campaign for the post.

Prime Minister of the twin-island republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Keith Rowley on Sunday announced his country’s support.

He says it was never his country’s stance that incumbent Baroness Patricia Scotland – who’s serving on a CARICOM rotation, could truly represent the community. Now that election is due again, Prime Minister Rowley says Trinidad and Tobago’s position remains the same.

Johnson Smith has expressed gratitude for Dr. Rowley’s endorsement which Prime Minister Andrew Holness welcomes. Watch the report here:
