Sections of southern Jamaica have already been experiencing heavy rainfall as a tropical storm watch remains in effect for the island. The Executive Director of Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM), says no major damage has been recorded. Jamaicans are however being advised to take the necessary precaution.
The ODPEM, in a statement Monday, reported that the centre of tropical storm Lisa was located near south of Rocky Point, Clarendon. Our news team understands that since Monday morning, sections of southern Jamaica have in fact experienced heavy rainfall.
However, Acting Executive Director of ODPEM Richard Thompson says no infrastructural damage has been reported. Still, he’s advising Jamaicans to take every precaution to protect themselves. H is also reminding people to desist from traversing flooded waterways.
