Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton in responding to the latest advisory from the United States Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says Jamaica has done a good job managing the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recently the CDC raised Jamaica’s COVID-19 risk to level three which is very high and is warning Americans to avoid traveling to the country if they are not up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines. However the Health Minister maintains that Jamaica has been managing the pandemic quite well. Dr. Tufton asserts that although the country is experiencing the 5th wave of infections, it is not as dangerous as previous surges. Even so, he concedes that the CDC has a responsibility to Americans. Meanwhile, the Health Minister says there is always room for improvement as the pandemic persists. Watch the report below:
