Two brothers were shot and killed in St Mary on Monday night, leaving an entire community in mourning. Residents say the incident has jolted their otherwise peaceful community, even as the police ramp up their investigations.
The Bamboo Walk community in the parish was plunged into mourning following the murder of two brothers by gunmen. The victims have been identified as 21-year-old Travan Davis otherwise called Datty and 38-year-old Odane Edwards otherwise called Sickie.
According to police reports late Monday night, the brothers were standing along the roadway in the community when unknown assailants drove up in a grey Toyota Probox motor car and fired several shots at them. Travan was shot in the head and fell to the ground, while Edwards ran off but was chased and shot. The gunmen made good their escape. Both Davis and Edwards were rushed to the St. Ann’s Bay hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
