Following the recent death of David Brown, a 59-year-old fisherman from Moorefield in Trelawny, two individuals, including his widow, have been charged with murder, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Winston Milton, the commanding officer for the parish. Law enforcement responded to a domestic dispute alert a day before the incident, issuing a warning to the couple. Despite the warning, another call was received the next day, leading to charges against the widow and Montague’s brother, Lester Montague. Trelawny recorded 24 murders in 2023, with 11 being conflict-related, accounting for 46 percent. DSP Milton urges stakeholders to intervene and help break this alarming trend. David Brown was murdered on Saturday, December 30, with his body discovered near his home.
