It was a bloody night in Discovery Bay, St. Ann after gunmen killed two people and injured another.
Reports from the St. Ann’s Bay Police are, about 7:10 p.m on Monday, December 14, a white Toyota Axio motorcar drove up at Peng’s food joint on Main Street, Discovery Bay, St. Ann.
After that, a man exited the vehicle, entered the establishment, and shot 21-year-old Omar Dennis, also known as ‘Tall Dog’, a chef of Top Bay in the parish. He is also said to be the owner of the shop.
According to the Acting Head of the St. Ann Police, Dennis was the target, but another man was also murdered and a third injured.
A man who frequents the shop, was there when the tragedy unfolded and narrowly escaped death. He says Dennis served him a rum special, just seconds before he was killed.
He believes the incident stemmed from scamming gone wrong.
Superintendent White says this is highly likely; however the Police are following several leads.
The residents are disturbed by the killings, which they say are changing the peaceful nature of the community and the parish.
Superintendent White says the spate of killings is cause for concern, adding that many of the perpetrators are migrating from other parishes.
He says the Police remain committed to bringing these individuals to justice.
